The Landlord Collection Agency is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Connecticut Property Owners Alliance, LLC and was first licensed by the Connecticut Department of Banking in 2017.
The company was established to provide landlords with the ability to help recover debts owed by former tenants, as well as to warn potential new landlords that their rental applicant owes money to their former landlord by posting the debt with the credit bureau.
Small claims judgements used to be the primary way to show tenant debts, but these files have been removed from the Public Records section of a consumer’s credit report as of 2017, leaving collections as the only way to legally display debts owed by tenants to landlords.
Our collection team is experienced in dealing with tenant rental payments. We have been handling landlord/tenant issues since 1983 and advocating for property owner rights since 1994.
